Being a skilled CMS/Content Author is a critical role in creating and managing content within any platform. My role(s) require excellent attention to detail and technical skills, and the ability to work in communication or environment(s) in which I am used to during my government positions.
- Creating and editing then publishing content within any Sharepoint/CMS platform, ensures accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Utilizing CMS features/tools for authors and content owners to manage, update pages/landing pages, digital assets, and multimedia content easily.
- Work closely with other stakeholders to understand content requirements and ensure alignment with overall digital strategies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to provide updates on content development and address any concerns or challenges.
- Supporting large website content migration activities as assigned, provide training and author support to clean redundant content information before migrations.
- Administration and user roles: Client authors and administrators while performing quality control checks on authored content.
Work with business stakeholders, design teams, agencies, content managers to setup workshops to collect business requirements, KPI's and use cases.
Content Management System Developer
Administration
Provides system analysis for SharePoint (SP) site creation and planning of new sites and requirements gathering and testing prior to implementation of a live site within established taxonomy
Homepage design and functionality
Provides a CMS/SharePoint website design for home page and site pages using web parts. Creates workflows within SharePoint or a CMS to automate and facilitate administrative processes based on their comprehensive knowledge of program support/ administrative processes.
Site ownership & governance plan
Consults with site owners to ensure that all sites adhere to the established SharePoint/CMS Governance Plan and approved taxonomy
Content information sharing
Provides research and analysis for issues resolution and recommendations on all owned SharePoint/CMS sites as part of site management. Supports and assists in the development of priorities, strategies and practices for knowledge sharing, Informatics value and services as well as effectively communicating with its programs and divisions.
Standard polices & procedures
Performs analysis and advisory assignments related to the effectiveness of program operations & projects & initiates detailed follow ups; adhere to & follow administrative work processes in accordance with standard polices & procedures.
Up-to-date information
Provides expert up-to-date knowledge needed by division appointed SharePoint/CMS contact to implement their division SharePoint/CMS instances.
Clear and concise documentation
Providing clear and concise documentation that are technical in nature regarding the use and directions on how to use the SharePoint/CMS site. Maintain Section 508 compliance in any and all SharePoint/CMS developments.
Translation and collaboration
Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to gather and analyze requirements and translate them into SharePoint/CMS solutions.
Managing multiple projects
Manage multiple ongoing web projects from start to finish, including tasks such as learning and understanding the purpose/intent of each corporate websites; inter-team and inter-department discussions of build and/or update requirements; and the development and delivery of projects within established deadlines.

I've applied functional, working, and general industry knowledge with any CMS/Sharepoint system. I can develop and contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Independently worked and maintained up-to-date knowledge, with some guidance, also reviewed and guided activities of more junior employees.

- 3+ years of experience with SharePoint administration, including SharePoint Online
- Experience creating and maintaining SharePoint sites
- Experienced in SharePoint customization, including custom branding and navigation, configuring and administering search, configuring site collections, and content type development
- Major experience working with clients (in-house and externally), stakeholders, and end users to obtain requirements, content and information.
- Experience using the Microsoft Office 365 suite, WordPress, Sharepoint Online, Sharepoint 2016
- Experience with JavaScript development and Web development languages, including HTML and CSS
- Obtained a current federal security clearance and background check
- Bachelor's degree of Fine Arts
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to work on a team to collaboratively execute software development life cycle activities, including scope and requirements definition, design, development, and deployment of SharePoint solutions.
- Ability to perform interface modifications to SharePoint/Wordpress utilities and tools, and support content migrations, workflow development, and solution deployments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis of government technical documentation.
