Tom's Watch Bar
As a freelance digital website content developer and designer I work closely with our cross-functional marketing team and stakeholders at Tom’s. Focusing on building and improving the many websites and digital assets Tom’s Watch Bar has. Creating high impact sports content for web pages, digital customer-facing assets and knowing the sports content inside and out – and applying it in user-focused page design, and how to track its effectiveness and knows how to communicate user benefits over features. Optimizing customer journeys through high level of mastery of content taxonomy, SEO and design.
Understanding sports audiences and clearly communicating how content will address to their needs, I command modern content standards, and be able to clearly communicate content issues and solutions to various levels of stakeholders. Below are some of the weekly duties that are included in this freelance position at Tom’s.
1. THE PROBLEM
The primary goal at Tom’s is to update content, mainly sports calendars in a timely and efficient manner.
Maximizing conversions and consolidate the operations of their thirteen divisional websites into a single intuitive brand experience.
Maintaining multiple websites instead of one site is a major undertaking, especially when updates are across the board with similar content, structure and the need for a quick turn-a-round. Having multiple hands touching the sites with multiple customization’s makes for a difficult process of updating sites.

2. THE SOLUTION
Aligning content with business goals, stakeholder objectives, and user needs. Inventorying and auditing of content on a local or enterprise level.
Organizing and structuring the websites into one website instead of thirteen separate sites.
This would enable Tom’s Watch Bar to enhance their overall marketing strategies by providing better product promotion and streamlined integration with existing WordPress structure. The challenge that our team had is to rethink the entire approach of their structure, interface and core technologies used on their site in the past.
Key responsibilities:
- WordPress Administration: Themes updates HTML/markup, deployment, installing and custom configurations
- Collaboration: communication and analytical skills
- AWS hosting: troubleshooting, backup, Ubuntu scripting, WebAdmin
- Customizing Cascading Style Sheets (CSS): Custom post types, social media types and content blocks
- Website maintenance: Plugin updates, site updates security , caching
- Google Analytics: Prepare and present regular performance reports, including insights on sales, customer behavior, and marketing effectiveness.

3. RESULTS
Tom's required dependable results, effective communications, expert content strategies.
Successfully working independently, collaborating closely with marketing and product teams to deliver and augment a fully optimized, user-friendly website that boosts online engagement and visibility during major sports events.
I made a significant impact by updating the website to enhance Tom’s digital footprint and drive business growth. Distilling simple concepts into simple ideas with a deadline-driven and able to handle simultaneous tasks, using prioritization models and team communications.
The results:
- Strategy: I’m always suggesting better strategies or pointing out risks in current website structures.
- Tools: Familiarity with tools such as Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office Suite
- Collaboration: Communication and collaboration with multiple departments and stakeholders
- Avada builder: Creative and analytical builder updates
